Completely Motorbikes are applying for Administration
I thought I’d leave it for a few days to give them the benefit of the doubt, but surprise surprise Completely Motorbikes aren’t completing a Stock Audit as posted on Social Media. I’ve spoken to local staff who tell me the company has applied for Administration.
What this means in the short term for its staff and customers is unclear, as they tell me they are in limbo; but I believe them when they tell me they will do everything they can to unite customers with their bikes. I’m sure their intention is genuine, being the true bikers that they are, yet they can only do what they can within the restraints of the corporate world.
I've seen many posts on Social Media of people paying for bikes last week and are unable to collect them , clearly there is a lot of frustration and uncertainty. People need answers from the top rather than the staff trying to fire fight as best they can, its not their fault.
Limbo-Land is a horrible place for the staff and customers alike, all with a vested interested in getting back trading; for staff to earn wages and customers to preserve their hard-earned cash. Whether Completely Motorbikes have reached this point through poor management, an upturn in business costs or a downturn in sales, only time will tell. Either way, the books don’t balance, and normal hardworking people suffer.
Maybe we could blame it on a wet and dismal summer, damping our enthusiasm to invest thousands of pounds in an expensive toy or the uncertainty in the economy has kept a tight reign on our bank balances. Whatever the reason, dealerships are finding things tough at the moment. They rely on banking sales during the season to buffer their lean times through the winter, hence this is a pivotal time for many businesses to manage their cashflow.
We are seeing the effects with local dealerships closing ( a couple close to me ) which are changing the shape of two wheel landscape; impacting not only of sales but also servicing and repairs. The expert mechanics and the years of knowledge will soon be a thing of the past; no longer having a chat over the counter with people that have become our friends over the years.
Our Motorbike garages have become more than a place to purchase, it’s a social destination, almost our church, where we can converse with like minded people. I sincerely hope the industry doesn’t end up an online business as many others have. If you want to keep these local businesses alive, support them and invest in them.
