Next-Gen Norton V4 Superbike Unleashed Ahead of EICMA 2025 Reveal

Norton V4 Reimagined: The British Superbike Reborn

There’s a storm brewing in the UK’s motorcycle scene—and it’s arriving on two wheels, loaded with heritage, horsepower, and high expectations. Norton Motorcycles has offered the first official glimpse of its next-generation V4 superbike, a machine set to carry the weight of a revitalised legacy and the hopes of a global brand.

Slated for its grand unveiling at EICMA 2025 this November, the new 1200cc V4 is more than just an update—it’s a statement. And the folks steering the ship clearly mean business. How do we know? Well, when Sudarshan Venu—Managing Director of Norton’s parent company, TVS Motor Company—decides to personally throw a leg over the prototype for a private UK test session, it tells you everything about the stakes involved.

Venu’s direct involvement is no PR gimmick. His feedback has already been passed to Norton’s Chief Technical Officer, Brian Gillen, and the brand’s R&D brain trust. With that kind of top-down pressure and passion, Norton’s new V4 isn’t just another superbike—it’s a flagship rebirth.

Engineering With a Point to Prove

Norton is boldly promising that this V4 will meet "the highest standards of engineering, design, detail, and dynamism." That’s a bold claim coming from a company still healing the wounds of a troubled past. But under TVS stewardship, Norton seems determined to make good on the ambition.

Details remain tightly under wraps, but from the limited imagery and early whispers, it's already clear this bike is forging its own path—starting with the styling. Gone is the more reserved, almost quaint front end of the previous V4SV. In its place is a bolder, sharper face with aggressive LED headlights flanked by sleek DRLs. The front-end aero looks sharper, leaner, and more in line with the contemporary superbike arms race.

A New Face, A New Focus

While we’ve yet to see the full bodywork in the metal, what’s visible screams a shift in design philosophy. Norton appears to be moving away from the classically inspired curves of the old V4, replacing them with a taut, forward-focused stance. It’s less about looking pretty in the paddock and more about slicing through air at speed.

Underneath the fairings, we’re expecting the same fire-breathing 1200cc V4 heart, but likely refined for more efficiency, reliability, and rider connection. The technical fingerprints of Brian Gillen are all over this machine—and that’s a promising sign for those who value performance as much as presence.

The Road to Redemption

Let’s not kid ourselves: Norton’s comeback hasn’t been an easy ride. But this machine? This is where the rubber meets the road. The next-gen V4 is poised to be the bike that defines this new chapter—not just for Norton, but for British superbike engineering as a whole.

We’ll be keeping a very close eye on it when EICMA 2025 opens its doors in Milan this November. You can bet your last tank of premium unleaded that Motorbike Mad will be there, up to our elbows in fairings and spec sheets, ready to report every last detail.

Until then, consider this your teaser for what could be the most significant British superbike of the decade.
